LOGGING, MILLING. TRANSPORTING AND SEASONING OUR TIMBER.

Windfall Timbers was a collaboration with local contractors and workers in Westport, set up from nothing in 2015 to extract logs and produce finished timber products sustainably from windblown native trees on a dairy farm in South Westland. The ethic of conservation and preservation of the remaining forest remnants was adopted in line with the Forests Act and the policies of the Ministry of Primary Industries, as well as respect for the cultural and natural values of native forests and timber and avoidance of waste and damage by maximum recycling and recovery of the entire resource, including short lengths, off-cuts, slabs, sawdust, bark and other by-products.
